There is just one thing amiss with this collection though. Care to guess? President Aria Pokoteng is not present D: … unfortunately, he was supposed to come along with the winter set Alicia-san. Guess I have a new fan-goal … secure President Aria *contacts the secret service*.
On a sidenote:
Along with the the Aria figures I was given by another friend a chibi figure of Shiraishi from Lucky Star. It just happened to pop into my mind to take a shoot of him along with the gang and it turned out quite lol :p.
My friend apparently liked the idea so she quickly made this post using an earlier take lol. I do like to point out though that I did not/was not/is not flaunting my precious Aria cast in the office as this and that pic was taken discreetly so as not to illicit any unwanted attention :D.
Wow! Wow! Wow! I was just checking up on some titles I encountered during a blog hopping expedition and when I got to check Seikai no Monshou’s (Crest of the Stars) MAL profile, I immediately took a liking to it. Aside from the good ratings, the display pic used was just something meant to be ‘love-at-first-sight’ed at :3 (which was what made me write this post in the first place ^_^*). I didn’t read any reviews though so as to avoid being spoiled but just continued to check the show’s relations and found out that this is a big franchise comprising of:
Managed to update myself on the Rozen Maiden franchise with a two-part special, Ouvertüre. This special happens somewhere in the middle of the Rozen Maiden Traumend timeline and shows a little bit of history between Shinku and Suigintou.
Although it gives some little bit of insight into the backgrounds of some characters, nothing else can be further deduced. But it was fun watching the characters again and listening to Suiseiseki’s ‘Desu’ trademark ^_^. Furthermore, the OP and ED Themes were also good but I liked the ED more. Overall, Rozen Maiden: Ouvertüre is an enjoyable ova special with calibre same as the other Rozen Maiden installments.
For starters, the show’s foundation is simple with the premise of a gargoyle statue staying with the Yoshinaga family (lol that’s what the title is). Gar-kun, as what the gargoyle is eventually called, initially starts of as the family gatekeeper then on to being loved by the townspeople along with other alchemic (uuh, did I mention there’s a little bit of alchemy in here?) misfits adding some life to a simple town. But I’d just like to point out that that is just in the general sense as there are really a lot of stories being shown (sort of not being linear).
Although it may not look appealing to some people, it is special in my book. It has that certain charm that gave me a good feeling when watching it. Further reasons that I like it is that it is one of those uncommon shows that (1) don’t have situations that I can’t stomach (or have a hard time doing so) and (2) don’t have characters that I get annoyed with. ^_^ So if ever you get yourself into a lull in your watching schedule, Yoshinaga-san’chi no Gargoyle is a worthy try.
Although I felt a very slight lesser ‘stirring’ effect with this version, I just attributed it to the main reason that I have already watched the first. But even if it was so, it still felt as something new :).
Overall, Kanon 2006 was still a wonderful, enjoyable and time-worthy watch. I like the ‘visual style’ that was utilized and it was good to be able to meet those adorable characters again. Truly another one for my favorites list ^_^.
